Who are we?

We were into tech before being technology was desirable. For most of us growing up, other than tech and late-night coding, all we had was music.

So imagine years later, a sweet spot where a love of music and all those hours in front of a screen come together in a collaboration with some top global and indie labels. A scenario where we get to create something that harnesses complex data and makes it relevant. To design a beautiful interface that people love using. But more than that: to solve problems and create happiness in an industry that we admire.

That’s Beatroot. And the reason why, if we weren’t paid, we’d probably show up anyway.

For the music industry, digital technology led to an explosion of consumption – and a decline in profits. Beatroot is proof that digital technology can be the source of a revival.

We are a collaboration between labels and developers, and our simple, powerful platform has one purpose: empower music and sync managers.

Because when your creative curators are happy and free of admin, with access to data on everything you own, they can make every track, every artist, profitable.


Miles has been working in the digital content and data industry since the 90’s.

After managing and being on the board of many successful start-ups, including an online publishing platform, a multi-channel ecommerce business and a new media consultancy, Miles is following his passion of working with both data and music.

Miles focuses on the growth and operational management of Beatroot, as well as driving our ambitious expansion plans.

Miles has written two books, believes in Lean startup methodologies and at the weekend enjoys spending time with his family or getting taken for walks by his dog.


Sabine is Beatroot’s Partner Manager and heads up Beatroot’s Sales, Marketing and Account Management team.

Sabine has a strong background of working with clients to implement clever and intuitive technology to make their lives a lot easier. Which is exactly what we do at Beatroot too.

Sabine is our resident customer champion and Beatroot advocate, who you’ll most likely chat to about coming on board. It’s Sabine’s job to build our brand, on-board new customers and making sure that everyone stays happy.

When not obsessively building the perfect gym playlist or walking her dog, you’ll find Sabine at the stables riding her horse.


Ancor has a passion for software development and we’re lucky to have him as our full stack engineer here at Beatroot.

Ancor has done everything from working in large scale online platforms to even founding his own startup app. His knowledge of product development and user experience is unparalleled.

The combination of Ancors knowledge, creativity and attention to detail has shaped Beatroot into what it is today. When it comes to the implementation of a feature on Beatroot he is meticulous in getting it right for both the customer and the code first time.

Away from his laptop Ancor loves authentic Spanish cuisine, good weather and his dog Dalai.


Alex Kennedy is our extraordinarily-wonderful Advisor and Non-Executive Director.

Often described as the “nicest guy in music licensing”, what / who Alex doesn’t know about publishing, licensing or sync, simply isn’t worth knowing. His passion and creativity in driving both teams and the industry forward, has earned Alex a strong reputation for delivering results and innovation.

As well as heading up the Music and Entertainment team at Sky, Alex is also the Co-Founder of the social treating app, Givvit. Alex is the final music-tech-shaped-piece needed to fit the Beatroot puzzle.

In his spare time, Alex enjoys watching rugby and attending as many gigs as possible.
